Not entirely sure but I believe these are the same Y seats fitted to the A380.
In this case the hinge points are actually about a third of the way up the seat back so when the person in front reclines, what you lose in "facespace" you actually gain in knee space as the lower section of the seat back and the seat base actually slide forward.
Overall I prefer it when the person in front is reclined rather than upright as I value the additional legroom (But I am 6ft 5" so YMMV.!) so overall even if the seat pitch has reduced from 34" to 32" (not sure about this) the apparent space actually seems better...
