That might work but your chances of meeting a beautiful blonde would be greater if you buy a Ferrari Berlinetta.
To tell the truth, I think I might have made a mistake in mentioning the beautiful FA (but definitely NOT in meeting her).
It seems to have changed the emphasis of this thread. The great pleasure I have repeatedly gotten by giving these chocolates was the reactions from the crews.
I mentioned in the OP that I do this during holidays (which can be religious holidays, American holidays, or Israeli holidays) and that I do it on Delta flights.
There was one exception. I also did it on one Czech Air flight two years ago, TLV-PRG, and it was not a holiday.
This was the first time I had flown Czech Air but I felt that I owed it a very big debt. On 9/11, my son (who was then 21), was taking his first solo flight to the U.S. I was a bit concerned anyhow as his English was limited but even more so when I heard the news about the attack on the Twin Towers.
He was flying TLV-PRG-JFK on Czech Air and I knew his schedule well enough to realize that he could not possibly be near the US (he was a bit past the UK when the first tower was hit) but I was worried that he would not know what to do or be able to understand instructions given to him.
I also heard on the news that all planes were being blocked from entering the US and that most airlines were not even helping passengers find accomodations in the cities to which they were diverted.
Czech Air, it turned out, was the exception to the rule. In order to avoid panic, the captain announced that they were returning to Prague because bad weather had closed down the entire East Coast.
When the plane landed, the passengers were given a paper telling them about the attacks and letting them know that Czech Air would arrange for -- and pay for -- hotel accomodations in Prague until they could resume their trip.
As it turned out, that meant he was put up in a nice hotel for several days.
Of course, I sent a letter to the airline thanking them and also publicized how they treated the passengers (as a journalist, I had a bit more ability to do that than most people would) but I wanted to thank them in person.
I got my chance when I took my first trip to Prague. I had boxes of chocolates for the crew and gave them to a young FA (in her early 20's) and told her that I wanted the crew to be the "stand in" for Czech Air. I told her the story and gave her the chocolates.
She actually started crying!
A short while later she came back to me with a bottle of champagne, telling me that the captain had instructed her to give it to me.
