That is my point, the credit should belong to whomever paid for the ticket, but the airline policies dictate otherwise. The fare is attached to your name regardless of who paid for it and unless they were waiting for their friend at the airport, they would have no way of knowing whether the friend used the ticket or not.

So, in some ways, I can see where some people take advantage of that policy. It definitely makes me wonder if the company I work for has such a policy.
