Don't underestimate the drive from downtown SFO to Pleasanton. It can take a long time, and if you have meetings you obviously need to be very mindful of when you can be someplace.
I do understand the allure of staying at say, the St. Francis instead of Pleasanton though. I try to stay in SFO as much as I can but sadly business realities often get in the way of personal wants!
