Yeah it's true, only I can decide!

I thought about it...so I get an extra 17396 Asia miles for traveling Premium Economy plus higher comfort for HKD 6220.

In terms of status, I am DM now and need around 30k+ for renewal by March (though I am sure they would extend me if needed). I'll probably do another couple of trips before March end. This LA trip would put me over the top if I do my semi-planned 25000 miles in the next few weeks. Just not sure!
