If this is real and not urban legend, I agree that a complaint would be in order; lawsuit as well, if one has the opportunity to pursue it in Swiss courts.
The special meal rationale is nonsense, but it reminded me of a flight on TK where I'd ordered a special meal, and the FA handed me a meal labeled with someone else's name. When I protested, she said "It's a veg meal and that's what you ordered, right?" Well no, I am Indian, but I'd ordered the seafood meal.I got the right meal only after giving her the evil eye.
Incidentally, the seafood meal was excellent. Now that LH no longer offers it, TK is the only one I know of that does (in economy).
