Is there a *G lounge in terminal 2 (our flights connect there)? The Star Alliance lounge finder suggests there is not one, which seems pretty surprising for the hub of a * airline. If a contract lounge is being used, would there be any chance of getting passes from JJ or LH? (our status is with neither)
There is currently no Star Gold lounge at GIG. A contract lounge is being used at Terminal 2 for all airlines. The only airline lounge that is currently being operated is Air France's at T1.

TAM lost the bid to renew its contract and their lounge was closed in August 2012. GIG is operated by Infraero, a state-owned operator, which is bound by law to concede the spaces to the highest bidder. Since Infraero is inept, they see no purpose of drawing a contract in which only airlines are allowed.
GIG will be privatised in some months, so that will change, since private operators will see how lounges are strategic.
