Do you unpack or not? do you pack strategically for this?
I am a confirmed bachelor, so putting all my stuff in drawers and hanging things would be the last thing to make me feel at home.
I travel for leisure that may make a big difference for me, but I usually leave my shirts and pants in one stack - I can easily work my way through that, while my underwear and socks I have rolled up on end. That makes them easy to find. I use a plastic shopping bag for my dirty underwear and socks, I just stuff them in and when it is time to leave I use the handles to help me squeeze all the air out. I then put them in the top part of my bag, and find it doesn't make a huge difference because the thin separator is flexible enough to adjust. I've tried using packing bags and such (I still use one for my pillow) but found I spent too much time dealing with those, they took up space, and what I planned on wearing day three would always be different from what I wanted to wear when I got up that morning.
