Looks like they have two flights from BKK-IST, the day flight on a 330 with 4 rows in Biz, the night flight has 6 rows of Biz on a 340 (both between doors 1 and 2) - which sounds very dense.
Unfortunately the day flight requires an overnight in IST. What is the consensus here? One extra night in a hotel or suffer on the 340 seat on a night flight?
Stay the night in a hotel. The airline will offer you a room free of charge if you ask for one. Just go to the Hotel Desk in the main terminal building (turn right after going through customs).

I flew Hong Kong-Istanbul earlier this month and was very disappointed with the cabin service in business class. The flight attendant could not say what drinks she was offering on her tray. The canapes were served with no napkin to wipe greasy fingers. Orders for drinks with dinner were requested before we were issued with menus, so h ow did we know if we wanted white or red wine or whatever if we didn't know what we would be eating?

My companion did not get the dinner he ordered. Instead he received a 'special' meal that must have been pre-ordered by someone else. The food was passable. The smoked salmon starter was excellent but spoiled by placing a lemon quarter in a blob of cream which made it slippy and difficult to squeeze over the fish.

In-flight entertainment was plentiful but poor quality. Movies were old and from limited Hollywood studios.

The new lie-flat seats were hard and narrow and nowhere near as comfortable as on the previously leased 777s with herringbone arrangement.

I won't be flying Turkish again.
