Don't be afraid to put the companion discount code in the appropriate box and shop online for fares. I do it all of the time trying to get the most bang for my buck. If you can get all the way to the screen that gives you a total price you're good to go. You can just back up or quit out at that point and not lose your certificate until you've actually made the purchase.

And no, you cannot get to CUN on the companion fare. Back in the day.....
