Look at the price of a Qantas flight versus a Jetstar one (same company, more or less). Qantas gives you points. Jetstar doesn't. You literally can not find a cheap flight under the Qantas name because it would be a Jetstar flight. Imagine if United owned Southwest, kinda (shudder).
