Thanks for the info. 50% is better than nothing - though the loss is still not good for those of us who fly a lot. I got the "no status miles/segments" from the web.

I just cancelled at trip from YQG to ORL and have decided to fly Delta direct from DTW. I went online to try and upgrade and find I can't. I'll end the year with 60+ upgrades left. If AC is going to make it hard to be SE and hard to use the benefits it is time to find other options. I was going to have a lengthy layover in Toronto both ways but it would be worth it for the better treatment. However, if it is cattle class or nothing with AC I'll take the direct flight (which was also less expensive).

I really don't understand the logic of this change. It costs NOTHING (well maybe a glass of wine) to upgrade me. But instead, I have cancelled and am on my way over to Delta. How can this be good business for AC????
