Oh and for the sanitizer junkies, sanitizers do nothing to stop this monster.
Alcohol based sanitizers kill virus’s while bleach based cleaners kill germs like e-coli, but you have to use a good amount of hand sanitizer to kill the virus on your hands, just a little dab on your hands is not enough.
At the Sky Clubs, I see a lot of people use the tongs to pick up the carrot or celery sticks and then pick up the veggies with their hands to eat them, a lot of virus’s are transmitted by hand contact, so handling the tongs and then eating the food is an open invitation to the Norwalk virus.
The best preventative measure is just plain being careful and make sure that whatever you touch does not come into contact with food that you will be eating. I know there are other ways to get the Norwalk virus, but by taking just the basic steps to prevent getting it, hopefully lowers the odds.
