I stayed here in early January using the 'Thank You' rate and managed to get a room for just £87. A quick call to internal reservations and the lovely woman I spoke to upgraded me to a suite. The room was absolutely gorgeous with lots of nice touches and an absolute bargain at that rate. It really is a beautiful hotel with lots of nice touches and I really want to love it, but I feel there is something missing. To me it just doesn't quite make the grade as a Waldorf property. Both times I've stayed there it has felt very understaffed, and while the staff who are there are extremely pleasant and very helpful, it just feels like something is missing. It lacks the grandness you get in somewhere like the Cavalieri or the Grand Wailea. Don't get me wrong, I'd happily stay there again if the need arose, but it doesn't fill me with that warm, fuzzy feeling I get when I'm heading to some other properties in the chain...
