With respect, they are an embarrassment. If that worked as a solution then we wouldn't see virtually every airline in the world investing heavily in PTVs with AVOD, games, etc. in Y. Yes, plenty of people bring their own devices but these aircraft are generally used on some of the longest sectors which exceed the battery life of most electronic devices. The absence of any form of PTVs, along with the absence of AC power is a significant competitive disadvantage for UA on these aircraft and it's appalling that they didn't invest the extra money when the aircraft were taken out of service for refit.

Nonetheless, it's good to see something finally being done about it in the form of WiFi-based streaming and AC power.
