Companion Upgrade requires K+ Fare?
Flying with my no status son tomorrow - different PNRs, though same flights, due to changes in my schedule. I called the platinum line, and was told by the agent that my son could not be added to the companion upgrade list because he was on a LUT fare, and to do so required a K fare.
I responded that I was pretty sure this was wrong, and would she please try it. She then said "this is really weird, it worked."
Was she right, and I got lucky that she somehow overrode a rule, or was I right and this is how it is supposed to work?
(BTW I searched the upgrade FAQ, etc. and didn't find anything on this.)
Not an issue at this point, just thought I'd ask the experts. I guess I have one more question...I should expect to be near the top of the list, and him at the bottom, in this case, correct?
