What is the maximum number of people in a hotel room in Austria?

A bunch of my family is heading to Tel Aviv (Jerusalem) this summer to see the holy sites. On the way, we're using one of our open-jaws on United (thanks Milevalue!) to stop in Austria. There are 8 of us and we would love to have to get only 2 rooms instead of 3 or 4. Anyone know what the max number of people per room is in Austria? I traveled to Barcelona, Monaco and Rome last summer with 3 others and didn't have any problems with all four of us in one room except for Rome -- they claimed Italian law said only 3 people max per room, and that I would be charged for the third person.

Any idea if it's something similar in Austria? We'll be in Salzburg and Vienna.

Also, how about Tel Aviv? Same there?
