You could be right. Certainly, this police officer acted as if her actions were routine. She'd done it before, because she had no difficulty holding the gun and writing at the same time.

She was quite calm, not showing any sign of over-reacting, and she spoke calmly, not shouting. She didn't even seem to think that I might be upset at having a gun pointed at me. We didn't talk about the gun.
