Looks like FAs are, in a lot of cases, getting first choices to GS and 1Ks. Methodology varies.
Yes. For folks here reporting F to B order taking, this is irrelevant. The only way you can know that the FA didn't follow the priority is if you actually know a 1K or GS who did not get their first choice. (There are legitimate reports of this above in the thread.) You can't tell by just watching the FA as there are many ways to get the desired outcome that do not require jumping around the cabin. This week SFO-KOA for example I had an FA that litterally took orders in what seemed like a random manner - i.e. took a full row in the middle, then one in the back, etc. None of this was based on status. Yet when she got to me late in the process she clearly knew the priority and made it clear I'd get my choice. Seems that she was hopscotching to disguise the priority ordering from other passengers but made sure she got to the GS/1Ks while she still had ample stock to guarantee a choice. Now I'm not claiming she followed procedure (if there is one) that said all other choices go F-B but my point is that she got the right priority outcome while no one in the cabin could have easily seen what she was doing.
