MUC Terminal 2 is one of the nicer terminals I have been to and not having lounge access is not such a big deal.

As NewbieRunner said: If they are able to (and want to) leave the terminal, your parents could explore the area between Terminals 1 and 2. Just exit the terminal by following the signs to baggage claim/exit and then head into the the direction of the trains/rental car offices. There are a number of shops and restaurants at the "Munich Airport Center". Also part of the area is outdoor but covered by a roof, so ideal to stretch your legs (or have a smoke or enjoy the "Biergarten"). http://www.munich-airport.de/en/cons...C_03/index.jsp

Even if your parents stay in the international departure Hall of Terminal 2 (Level 05), there wil be a number of restaurants, bistros and shops. The terminal is quite spacious and I like to find an unused gate at the far end of the hall to spread out.
