Complimentary Club membership is available for those members which fly over 125,000 miles per year.
UA most certainly does not own US.
The current AA-merger proposal would suggest that US would take over AA.
Since you only fly once or twice a year, I would suggest purchasing First Class tickets & a Club daypass for your next flight. Likely a lot cheaper than $4000 and would also waive your baggage fees.
I really thought United owned US, don't they advertise together? Also, in the future, I will buy first class tickets instead of status, but it wont be on US or UA, that is for sure.
How is US buying AA when AA is so much bigger, it seems the other way around if you think about it. Why have a company that has been in bankruptcy as many times as US has run A larger AA? Seems like US has screwed up too many times in the past to be running AA. This is AA's first time in bankruptcy, US has been there many, many times and is way smaller than AA.
