My sympathies for the experience.

I think UA dropped the ball pretty far on this one...and they wonder why no one wants to check a bag and the overheads are stuffed to overflowing...?


I agree with the advice to send communication to United, Email probably your best bet. No rants, layout the facts, and indicate what you want for the failure in service (miles, e-certs, etc).
