Could I still get any compensation for delayed flight past august?

Sorry if I post this is the wrong forum. This is the situation. I got a business ticket in aa fora fligt past august 2012:
Sps-dfw-lhr-arn and viceversa. The delay happened in lhr to dfw. Plane had mechanical problems. It was fligt 193. We were leaving at 1040am and we ended leaving after 7pm. I was told by aa agent that they couldnt do anything and british agent said that i wasnt elegible for a compensation because the ticket was bought in aa.com, what could i do? Do you think i still am able to get any type of compensation, does the ue passenger right applies to this? Let me know any info...
Thank you...
