When I did one of these over 30 day trips, my carrier did indeed ask me for my travel information before I left home. I had the printouts in my carry-on bag and was able to show them that I would only be in Thailand for 2 weeks before leaving to another country.

So in addition to everything else stated in this thread, it would be a good idea to have documentation of your entire journey when departing initially from home.
