I'm new to flyer talk but had to register to join this thread. The same thing happened to me 2 days ago. I am booked on a trip of a lifetime flight to Sydney in March for a wedding and after hours of research on this forum and looking at some pictures decided 64A was the seat for me on UD.

I am obbssesed with my seat to the point of going in each day to manage my booking to see what seats are starting to fill up and how lucky I am that there are no window seats left now.

I was GUTTED when I saw the email which stated I had been changed for "operational" reasons so I immediately called BA. The nice lady confirmed I had been changed to 64 J/K but had been changed back and was removing the "UN?" notes on the account and that everything was now ok.

I asked if this "operational" change was anything to do with the bassinet seat and she said "yes it might be" which really got my back up as I thought we had established that a BAEC member who has paid for 64A should not be asked to move.

However, I am now on tenterhooks praying that on the day I will end up in my beloved choice of seat and nothing else will happen along the way.

I was going to say to the lady on the phone if I wasn't moved back to 64A and I see an able bodied non infant bearing adult in my seat it would be a very long 24 hour flight!!
