Whilst I'm not flying for some time, last time I modified a flight by phone it took ages, then someone decided I couldn't do what I was doing, and tried to cancel the whole lot, so I'd be happier once it's ticketed.

I modified a booking that had already been e-ticketed. It went into the same queue and was redone a couple of weeks before departure so sat in the queue for a few months. I wasn't particularly bothered as it was a BA metal flight so any issues would have been relatively easily sorted by BA at the airport.
