Agree with most of the above .. I do this trip regularly and I'd say

1) Definitely stay up late when you arrive and for the first day or two - Do not be tempted to "go for a quick lie down" at 5/6pm when you arrive - that's a recipe for disaster in my book (as you'll wake up around midnight starving and it's 7+hrs to breakfast!)

2) Sleep on the plane a bit if you're tired - it doesn't matter too much .. I used to always try to stay awake the whole flight, but have reached the conclusion it doesn't matter too much if you snooze a bit

3) Don't drink too much on board - though if you're in F I guess I could make an exception on this !

4) Excercise is good - if you're into going to the hotel gym I find this works really well .. if you're feeling a bit sleepy when you shouldn't be sleepy a quick workout then will recharge your batteries for the evening (counter intuitive you might think, but it works for me)

For the return journey I think the best tip is to get the late flight back as it's closer to what should be natural bedtime at that stage and easier to sleep .. again don't have too much to drink, have a light meal and sleep fairly quickly (can be a challenge if the meal service is slooow as it is sometimes) .. I don't like getting a ~4pm departure as you're not really tired then and I find sleeping hard.
