Was that definitely the reason for the go-around? It's entirely normal to fly parallel approaches at SFO albeit with the 2nd aircraft offset a few hundred metres behind. 747s are a bit faster on the approach and you aren't allowed to overtake the preceding traffic so that may be what happened. Not a near kiss though as its a standard procedure and everyone knows where the other aircraft is.
