For a single traveller, I'd agree. Keep in mind though that you have to pay full taxes on an award booking, close to 50% of the ticket price on an S class fare and don't earn any miles on that flight. That's why there's also the option of combining an upgrade on a B class fare ticket with an award ticket. If you split the price of fuel and taxes and the B class fare between the two, you end up at perhaps 2 H fare tickets in C.
