I thought this was strange as Island Air serves Hawaii. What is Island Air doing operating a flight from Atlanta, GA to Meridian, MS (presumably) on 3M metal?
Since this flight is operated by Island Air (WP), I'm assuming that WP determines whether I receive any miles. However, UA MP says that I can earn mileage on inter-island Hawaii flights on WP (but this is assuming that WP ONLY does inter-island flights in Hawaii since I've never seen them operate flights outside of Hawaii)
Will I earn any miles on UA? The service to MEI only started on Oct 1st (MEI was served by ExpressJet dba Delta Connection before then)
Is the listing on ITA a mistake? Or is WP expanding out of Hawaii and starting to operate regional flights?
EDIT: I think it might be a mistake on ITA. I tried to look up flights on Silver Airways' website and it doesn't mention any sort of codeshare or other operator. It also shows a higher fare than what ITA shows.
If it is indeed an error, I have another question. There's no field to input my FF# for UA although Silver Airways' website says that they are a UA MP partner. Do I have to call them to put my FF# on the PNR?
An update on this:
I contacted Silver Airways and it turned out that it was a new route for Silver Airways and that the ticketing was being done by Island Air while Silver was upgrading their computer systems.
