If you ask at checkin or the gate for a "seat closer to the front" with your *G card in hand, they might comp you E+.

If you want my advice, pick a seat you like towards the back of the plane, either window or aisle (not the very back, those are usually bad seats). At check in or what not, just politely ask the gate agent if they have anything closer up at the plane. It's pretty easy to tell when you have status.
