Yeah, I did see that there is sometimes a YVR-AKL flight on NZ (is it seasonal?). It never shows up on while looking through the United.com's award search... yet some of the NZ reward flights will show up routing through LAX/SFO on the website. Just not any from YVR. AC shows up under partner flights when doing a search to SYD instead of AKL.

But my expectations aren't that high, given that I've never traveled internationally by air and that the main carrier I use is Southwest. But any seat pitch less than 32" and I'm going to suffer badly, so I'm trying to avoid that
