I finally got tired of waiting for the various travel websites I use to post better shortcut apps as many other major companies have already done. Since United is the primary airline that I fly, I have compiled/packed a Chrome extension that can be safely added to your installation of Google Chrome. Currently working on other airlines I use as well as vehicle rental and hotel affiliates. And of course....FlyerTalk is next.
This will install a large button for you to click on the 'Apps' segment/page of Chrome. This should be compatible for all installation scenarios (read: operating systems and environments) in which Chrome will run.
This extension will need to first be saved to a local directory and then dragged into Chrome. Google recently updated the application to disallow any extensions from being added outside of the Google Web Store.
