As we know, though, the problem is that people expect the world to revolve around them.

A while back, I flew Thai F from AKL to BKK and it was a day flight, the crew were fastiduous in closing every single blind until I asked them why....apparently, given that there were only 2 pax in F, the other one wanted to sleep as she was going out that night. I, on the other hand, wanted to stay awake and sleep on the next flight.

50/50, I made sure that the light wasn't streaming into her face and was able to enjoy some daylight. I did not demand all the blinds to be opened as it would have been rude, but somehow the other person did not see it that way.
