I've lurked for some time, and read a number of threads in researching this but haven't got an up to date answer. The one about availability drying up last October didn't raise my hopes...

Looking to book any US west coast destination (for a road trip holiday) in Traveller Plus and use Avios to upgrade in August this year, but have now searched pretty much every North American destination without success for any time in August. Flying out of London, has to be August.

• I don't want to pay full whack for Traveller plus if the chances are I won't be able to upgrade if availability comes up later. So I'm looking for advice:-
• Likelihood of availability after the sale finishes Tuesday going forward?
• Chances of getting that option if I phone and try that way?

Am I resigned to flying Traveller, and "wasting" my Avios should availability come up to go to Traveller Plus?

Frustrated is not the word...
