Well, I flew on BA117 (LHR 08.30 - JFK 11.10) last summer. There had apparently been an over-heating problem on board so wasn't surprised to find all blinds drawn as we boarded. Having said that, no-one opened their blinds (apart from me - I like to look out!) and not only that, after take-off most of the cabin put their seats horizontal and appeared to go to sleep!

This felt a little strange, to say the least...
