I dont think the FAA can mandate what a foreign carrier does or doesnt do. That said they probably can prevent a foreign carrier from flying a 787 now to the US. If LO wont be using it to other destinations , I would have thought they would have been better off having over here in case boeing needed to get it hands on it.

But at least LO was smart enough not to take any passengers or could be the FAA can mandate no passengers from the US

What plane should be on what routing I will leave to UAs experts. If they cant fill the 777 or dont have enough of a cargo biz, no sense using a 777 be it PMCO or PMUA. Or could be the 777 can yield more profit on another route which the 787 is too small for or doesnt have the range for

Im not about to tell UA Im the expert and they arent, Im sure if the #s were there they would have kept it a 777 and put the 787 onto a different routing
