Yesterday I was trying to buy a ticket YYZ-LAX for Feb. 4-7. The travel agent I called found an AC fare for CAD566 incl.

After she asked whether I was Chinese (which I'm not), I was told that in that case she couldn't sell me the ticket.

Can someone here explain the reasons for this? Are these consolidator tickets to the US not supposed to be sold except as part of international travel to SYD or Asia? In any case what difference does it make to AC if I am Chinese or not?
