Does anyone have any experience of how quickly you get the status change to Gold for £10k spend.
I've signed up for this card mainly for the free night certificate, but we are holidaying in the States in August staying mainly in Hilton properties, so it seems worth making sure that we get the status by that time. I've got a few big purchases to make, so can hit the spend, but I don't have much need to rush for the status before that (we will probably only stay in Hiltons for 3-4 nights before that).
I'm assuming that I need to make sure I've done the spend by the end of May, giving a couple of months for the status to update, but should I go for it before that to be safe?
Hi Keith, whilst I don't have any direct experience in long it takes to turn Gold; my friend has just got this card and has been advised it will take 6-8 weeks to turn silver. (I am already silver) We are off to the States in August too and I am working on the basis that it will take the same time too. However, I going to hit the £10k as soon as I can to allow more time! Now, I am only hoping that the reward certificate is slow to come so it doesn't expire before I want to use it at the end of August!
