Again, the FAA emergency airworthiness directive pertains to the airlines with registered aircrafts in FAA jurisdiction, the US. This is not a general "ban from flying in US".

You may want to read the FAA press release regarding the directive, here.

FAA acted on the 16th (again, only UA was affected at this point), but repeatedly stated that "the plane is safe to fly" up until that point, even though they initiated a investigation directive on the 11th based on the Boston incident.

Following the directives issued by japanese authorities, the European and Indian authorities acted on the 17th, as did QR.


Now, I agree with you that it is appropriate that all ground staff gets the information asap. You didn't tell us when you discussed with the ground staff (and the timing of events is important since your claim is that they are stupid for not knowing), but it still strikes me as you had set yourself up for disappointment regardless of how it went down that day. The transcript you made is quite telling.
