Tales from the Mint

My top 5 Mint memories:

5) receiving my all time largest single delivery of $90,000.

4) Having the director at the US Mint congratulating me that I had bought more dollar coins than Disneyland, and then -- telling me it was over, nothing he could do and my exemption was now void. I later found a workaround .

3) Getting to know the bank tellers and my UPS guy, we are now good friends and have met up at local blues festivals in San Diego.

2) Arriving to deposit 20 minutes short of being in the middle of a bank robbery at my branch. The parking lot is full of cops and they are looking for the "Geezer Bandit". He was later caught and convicted. Had he robbed me, his take would have been 20K (the max deposit per day).

1) The killer-fab trips I have taken with my wife and kids on using the coin miles.
