It's a good backup incase the PS flights go MX, jump down to IAD and fly out. Has happened to me, but still missed my LAX-SYD flight by 10mins due to issues with the plane at IAD.

Also created an interesting MR yesterday that had LAX-EWR-IAD-JFK
