I don't think a rep from one company is in the position to state that another, totally unrelated, company would compensate you.
You were compensated for being bumped and you have been refunded the cost of the jet blue ticket you said you were forced to buy.
As guv1976 says this could have been a jet blue mistake in not honouring a paper ticket rather than a VS fault in issuing one in the first place. And surely even with a paper ticket there is an electronic record behind it?
