I am having such a difficult time deciding where to stay. My husband and I are traveling with another couple for a long weekend in Paris in April. Based mainly on advice here we were enthusiastic about the Esprit St Germain but the 5th floor terrace room and suite are booked. The only category available is the suite, approx 780€ per night. Alternatively, the Meurice (superior room around 860€ per night) or Le Burgandy Jr suite about 750€ per night.

Would ideally like to have lovely light rooms. Do not need to be huge but trying to avoid dark and depressing......also a lovely walkable neighborhood, helpful concierge, warm sincere welcome........it is my friend's 40th birthday and up to me to choose the hotel, really hoping for special and luxurious but hoping to keep the room price around $1000 US per night
