Yes, but we don't know if the OP is on the 294, although it wouldn't make a difference as we're talking about WT+ travel that is not meant to include access to the supper in the lounge. As you mention, 294 passengers can use the dining option and skip the meal onboard.

I guess the earlier departure is too early to sleep for some passengers, particularly those that are fully adjusted to the local timezone and who will want something to occupy them.
