I'm in the minority on FT in that I never opt out. I am an infrequent flier, so I've been able to avoid irradiation and sexual assault in my few travels, as the airports I transit are either equipped with MMW or don't use BSX frequently enough for me to get caught in the net.
I respect the choice of those who opt out and I agree with most of the reasoning, particularly the safety aspects of BSX. But the full body rubdown with genital contact that TSA laughably calls an "enhanced pat down" is a sexual assault, plain and simple. I cannot, I WILL NOT, submit to such an assault. Many TSA supporters argue semantics of legal definitions of sexual assault, which vary from state to state in the US, and many hold the opinion that it's not a
sexual assault for someone to fondle your sex organs without your permission or under duress, if the fondler doesn't actually get some sort of sexual gratification from the act.
Hogwash.
Touch my sexual organs under duress, it's a sexual assault. And I won't willingly submit to that, ever.
