MR transfers to DL 1:1, unless there is a current transfer promotion.

Is the 95,000 SkyMiles for Coach, or Business Class? If Coach, that's a terrible redemption.

If you go to United's website, and can find low-tier ("Saver") award seats, then open an Aeroplan account with Air Canada, register your Aeroplan account with Amex, call Air Canada to reserve the United flights, and then do an instantaneous transfer from MR to Aeroplan (while you remain on the line with the Air Canada agent).

Caution: make sure you redeem the Aeroplan miles for flights on United. Redeeming Aeroplan miles for flights to Japan on other carriers -- including Air Canada itself -- will result in hefty fuel surcharges being assessed on the award.
Hmmm, crap - that's not what I was hoping to hear And yes, that was for economy.

Thanks so much for the insight - there is a United flight as well. It was about $50 more expensive, hence the reason I didn't go with it. But if it ends up being alot less miles than the Delta 95,000, I guess it would be worth it?

Will try your method - report back soon. Thanks again!
