This was my first stay at the Andaz (my first time to NYC). I was surprised when my query about the splash suite at checkin resulted in an upgrade to one, given what I'd heard about confirmed suite upgrades at this hotel. We were on the third floor, so no view of the Empire State Building but a fantastic view of the NY Public Library across the street.
