We've sometimes flown with a toddler Aerobed. What makes it heavy is the pump. But, then I wouldn't want to have to manually blow up an airbed (unless I could reliably get one of the kids to do it - mine are too young). You also need to consider bedding. I would put the Aerobed, pump, and fleece cover in a large duffle bag - and I still had room for other stuff in the bag. But, I had to be sure it was all lighter weight stuff (like diapers, clothes) so as not to exceed 50 lbs.
