I am guessing it was priced at economy prices?
Not knowing French law, but I would assume like most countries there would be a clause (or get out) for mistake prices when it is clear to the average person it is a mistake. If so, Expedia is off the hook.
Also, was Expedia any cheaper than booking on China Eastern direct? I always find it better to book direct with the airline..
The price was 1288 euros per ticket for CDG-PVG // SYD-PVG-CDG which did sound like a good deal and was the cheapest business option but was more expenseive than other coach options. I found the rate on Kayak, and it was offered on ebookers, go voyages and expedia. I did check the China Eastern site but it was blocked for any reservations after June 28th. I guess I should have investigated more before purchasing my ticket. I was pretty sure of myself because the booking was in Z class and it it a very commonly used class for business...

Reason: mistake wrote SYD instead of CDG
